Tear gas is a chemical weapon that is banned in warfare by the Geneva Convention. Before a photo op in front of a church, President Trump 'cleared the road' with military police using tear gas on peaceful protesters while giving a speech on National TV. Peaceful protesters were being shoved, trampled, tear gassed, & cornered by military police with flash bangs thrown at their feet while he spoke of being the 'President of Law & Order' & discussed looting.

Freethinkers:The Holidays and Elections

Politics during an election year. 

The holiday season- October through January! 

Every. Single. Year. 

Both politics and "the holidays" have infiltrated our TV sets, are on street corners, billboards, and radio stations. In stores, airports, movie theaters, restaurants, and mailboxes. We can't seem to get away from opposing opinions to our personal belief systems. Viewpoints and propaganda may become infuriating at times. Unless we hide in our homes with earplugs and blinders, and refuse to interact with anyone, we will notice something about Christmas or Election 2016.

It is best to form your own beliefs based on logical thoughts, and what you believe deeply to be true in your heart, by rationally contrasting both. Whether it is spiritual notions or processing facts, being true to ourselves and our values can cause an argument with just about anyone if the right buttons get pushed in the process of sharing our views. I believe in celebrating whatever holiday least offends you, if any. Respect others and their beliefs, unless they are a threat to you directly in some way- then don't. Truth is greater than fiction; but kindness is more productive than aggression however in most cases. Happiness is better than misery any day! Some people just don't care about fairness or facts, and they don't respect you or your right to disagree or to be a freethinker. It is pointless to preach to those who are close minded because they will never give any opportunity to be proven wrong. That is the essence of a close minded person. They will brush you off, so it is better to do the same rather than frustrating yourself. They probably feel the same way, even if they are delusional in their viewpoint. Let's all get through it, with the least amount of damage possible- whether it's to avoid the risk of emotional scarring, economic turmoil, or complete homicidal anger. Holidays and election year bliss is possible for everyone! If we try hard....right?

Some independent thoughts on the holidays and elections:

It doesn't necessarily matter who wins the White House, look what happened with Barack Obama. If a new Democratic president cooperates with Republicans, or attempts to be open minded with them again in any way, the next 4 to 8 years will be lost trying to create jobs and tax the rich too. There could be another 300+ anti-abortion bills introduced. Social program cuts to pay for billionaire tax breaks may still be weekly. They are looking for scapegoats at this point just like Hitler did when that economy wasn't working for the rich who controlled it. They still don't care.

On a more positive note. Americans are granted the right to Freedom of Religion. That isn't going to change, even though right wing extremists would love it if it did. That constant threat scares a lot of people. Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Assembly, and the Right to Bear Arms will remain. Hate speech advocating violence against minorities, unconstitutional assembly, and gun wielding home grown terrorists are not covered under those Constitutional rights. So that's good. Those who perpetuate or participate in that sort of stuff may disagree, but that is also why it is tempting to live in a bubble so we don't have to hear them being celebrated and applauded.

Christmas trees are derived from the Pagans who celebrate Winter Solstice with evergreen trees, and they have since before Christianity. Christians have evergreen "Christmas trees" and simultaneously denounce pagans as evil, along with witchcraft and all it's symbols. This is hilariously funny every year to those in the know who do not celebrate the religious version of Christmas.

Hanukkah, is a celebration of Jewish ancestry and the tribe surviving being killed for their religious beliefs and regaining their temple after one such instance of standing up to a dictatorship imposing a religion on them- based on historical events. It isn't "Jewish Christmas." If anything, it could be considered a protest OF Christmas.

I am not offended by anything on earth infinitely more as a socially conscience person than religion and government not diligently being kept separated. Also, attempts at any national religion, or attempts to demonize any religion or race, are just as bothersome. I consider anyone who supports that fascism to be mentally ill, and without a cure. They are not welcome making decisions for me and my family, especially through any government legislation. They are disqualified to be in American government for holding those beliefs and pushing those agendas. They should be considered an enemy of America, and a domestic terrorist.

Science, Data, and the Pro-Vaccine Culture Machine Implosion

The Pro-Immunization Culture That Has Been Fed Misinformation is Not Beneficial to Health OR Public Safety

Vaccines are a for-profit industry. They are marketed with fear mongering about diseases to the point of advocating for FORCED vaccinations. This, combined with disregard for public health by our government regulators and many health professionals regarding the risk of death or injury from the vaccines, has created the "Anti-Vax" movement. This link below is a PDF download from the FDA and the makers of "FluMist", the live nasal flu vaccine. It's 26 pages. It includes clinical trials and studies appearing to conclude that it was only 44% effective overall, with flu symptoms increased in those vaccinated vs placebo. Also, a double blind study on children in a daycare is included, in which about half were given the flu vaccine. It was concluded that several children caught the flu from the children who received the vaccine. The vaccinated shed live flu strains for up to 28 days after it is given. So many indictments of themselves, that is just a couple. It is an admission through the package insert that it isn't very effective, and that people can catch the flu from vaccinated people.  When the hype about the flu being dangerous is contrasted with facts, they speak for themselves. I wonder how long the live MMR vaccine is shed? I doubt there will be any clinical or official studies from MMR vaccine makers to show it's transmitted through the vaccinated populations, because that would undermine the pharmaceutical industry and government's purpose to vaccinate everyone, no matter what the true health consequences are. The Human Rights Council of the United Nations is being petitioned by Americans and other countries like Serbia to eliminate forced vaccines. To stand against Big Pharma means to stand against risky and unnecessary vaccines!

Forced Vaccines

There are documented allegations of medical, biological and chemical warfare experiments by the U.S. government performed on the public without knowledge and/or consent for over 100 years. Certain groups including the poor, minorities, the mentally ill, prisoners, and children most often as test subjects indicate government labels of worthlessness of it's people. Who was "worthy enough" to be excluded in the malicious experiments were by it's own set of terms. Forced vaccinations don't discriminate based on gender, income bracket, or color of skin. In 2007, alleged forced vaccinations occurred. Children were lined up at a Maryland courthouse and given shots, assembly line style. Parents were given a court summons, threats of jail time or DCFS taking away their children, and daily fines. Media and concerned advocates were kept behind barricades. Armed personnel and attack dogs kept the victims and general public of this incident compliant. "Gunpoint Medicine" is not in the best interest of a democracy or it's people! This was about government taking total control over it's people, and claiming it was for the greater good. It had nothing to do with public health. Public health for a greater good would include social justice opportunities for all for safe medicine practices. Civil rights in regards to individual or family health care and decision making should not be infringed upon by any for-profit industry merely concerned about quotas, money, and oligarchy. This is such an undemocratic abuse of power, I admit I question if it's a genuine incident:

The CDC is moving away from needles for shots, and towards stickers for vaccines. I believe a resistant public and government mandates are setting the stage for forced vaccines as simple as sticking a sticker on an unwilling subject.

Tipping Point for Americans

Civil unrest among citizens doesn't necessarily mean that they are violating any laws. To use the phrase "civil unrest" gives unfortunate imagery of people possibly deserving punishment of some sort for their behavior. In reality, unarmed people standing exercising their freedom to assemble does not include being chased down by army tanks or shot at with rubber bullets in a just society that honors its written laws. Freedom of speech, including the rights of media to pass knowledge on is protected under our constitution. Why were reporters assaulted and threatened with arrest in the recent protests in Ferguson, Missouri? This is one of many questions I have about our police state and militarism police response to protestors during the last few years. Occupy Wall Street documented the same type of events and abuses that have happened in Ferguson when the people refused to stand down to corruption and demanded answers in a peaceful manner. Has there been a tipping point that has turned the government to a war on its people rather than addressing financial and civil rights issues? If it were not for independent reporters and media outlets, this blog would not exist. Sharing of vital information about what really is happening around us and behind closed doors is proving an important means of survival and problem solving for those who would like solutions that benefit people and not harm. People at times seek justice from a government or fraction of it (I.e. police) and assembling in numbers in public is a peaceful way of showing disapproval for the wrongdoings and to seek justice. The violence towards those people and stripping of their rights further erodes the process for which they are merely standing up to protect. Americans have been led to believe that the laws written were worth the paper they were written on. As we are finding out with the International Treaty that was to protect Ukraine from being invaded by Russia again after winning their independence over 20 years ago, our laws that were written intended to protect citizens from a police state are worthless as well. To stand up is to be put down, and placed further out of the unconscious ideas of freedom that were engraved. Instead a dismal reality that you do not have those rights and that your voice is an enemy to your oppressor. Speak loudly, resist as long as possible, do not accept police brutality especially if our federal government is which seems to be the case.

Everyone To Be Served in Arizona Still

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer avoided federal litigation and vetoed a bill that would have made it legal for businesses to refuse to serve gay people. A good decision on her part, this is in violation of federal civil rights laws. The lunch counter discussion was resolved already, and Jim Crow Laws have been outlawed for quite some time! Legislators attempted to go backwards and derail freedom once again. The legislators who support this level of hatred toward Americans should pledge their citizenship and allegiance to Russia or Uganda, their agendas would be welcomed by their governments. They should also be tried in federal court for proposing and passing such a law in the first place- banned from office and punished. I doubt there will be consequences, but I fail to see why not. This was not a bill for protecting religious freedom, as supporters claimed. It was to legalize discrimination, and chip away at our Constitution and Civil Rights laws. A law of this nature promotes hatred, and encourages violence. It was to legally say on paper that gay people are inferior to their heterosexual counterparts, and to start stripping away at their American and human rights.

With human rights abuses all over the world, including here in America, it is a huge victory for the civil rights movement in general to hear good news. Currently 17 states allow same-sex marriage, 10 states recognize unions and partnerships, while 33 still have it banned. Although these 33 states ban it, this news is significant for equality for anyone who is LGBT. Because it applies to all federal employees, federal programs, and judicial systems, it thereby includes the states that still discriminate based on sexual orientation. The people affected in the states which ban same sex marriage are still allowed these equal civil rights under national law.  The Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 is really an extension of the Civil Rights Acts and more specifically the 1969 federal hate crime law, which did not specifically cover sexual orientation based hate crimes. This news from the Justice Department is a step in implementing the laws. This shows a willingness to uphold the Civil Rights Acts and commitment to the fairness for all values which these laws are based on.

Today is Martin Luther King day.  He had many wise things to say, and influenced social issues and culture. He was truly a man of wisdom and great ideas, and wasn't afraid to stand up for what was right. He has inspired many to stand up for social justice in his honor, as he was not finished yet. He made great accomplishments and those strides are continued to be remembered and honored!

Freedom of Speech and Hate Crimes

 I am thankful we can complain and moan over here in America about our government officials. If I want to complain or be even terribly rude about my government (which to my credit I am at times) - I can do that and it's ok! It's covered under Free Speech, which all Americans have thanks to our amendments to our constitution. Thank goodness too, it's a good way to sort things out when we share common goals and have disagreements in that process. This article below reminds me of an analogy- like jabbing a sleeping monster to wake it up:

I feel sorry for anyone gay in Russia right now as well as Syrians who are being gassed and all the others who live under governments such as these! I hope mine will learn it's path by listening to the voice of it's people through peaceful protests and voting. If we are to have one, it should work for the people, and give them things in return for their tax dollars, not the other way around. And oppression should never be the law, and never targeted at specific groups of people because of their sexual orientation, race, religion, etc. A real final solution is to not judge anyone based on these. Unfortunately, people will always be ignorrant somewhere, so I am also thankful and proud of all of the strides in the civil rights movement. Russia isn't as lucky lately.

The Culture of Lack of Empathy

  We as Americans are pretty screwed up. Miley Cyrus acting like a coked up stripper on the VMA's and Ben Affleck getting the part of Batman are big news and spreading like wildfire on the internet. Meanwhile 70,000 Kurds and Muslims have been murdered by their own government or else the old army in Syria, piled up in mass ditches like the Jews were, being bombed with chemical weapons, dying horrific deaths, being tortured and raped, and that's just not as important to the general public to know or freak out about. Whether we have a right to intervene or not is not what I am talking about here. I just think we as Americans are pretty screwed up in general with what we want information about and the knowledge we feel is important to pass on. 

Backwards Road for African Americans

      I had posted awhile ago about Martin Luther King and this sort of thing again makes people wonder about the problems with White Supremasists in government. There is a pattern of black men being executed and being denied DNA testing to prove their innocence, especially in Southern states. This article asserts that this man was convicted based on testimony of a cousin of one of the defendants who pointed to other men first, and by a jailhouse informant who later recanted his story. Still, Mississippi's Supreme Court rejected all his pleas for DNA evidence to be tested and used that was collected that may have proven him innocent.  I hope that this issue will be brought up at the federal level at some point. There is of course also a huge problem in Arizona with the same sort of government and the Hispanic population and how they are handling citizenship there, and there has been for quite awhile.

Crimes Against Innocent So Sad

26 Miles is a long way to run. The amount of preparation for the marathon was enduring, and so was the race. How cruel of minds to unleash such lack of empathy for humanity itself and the violence that occurred on all of the innocent people involved.  Thinking of the people directly affected by the bombings tonight.  Westboro Baptist Church acting no different than terrorists. Maybe they should be detained and questioned about possible involvement too due to their extremist views. I feel bad for real Christians. We should begin to either treat them as terrorists and security threats, or just ignore them. I believe they enjoy the attention for their hatred. Their latest is saying the bombings were deserved and of course God's punishment for our sins. Their hatred goes beyond free speech. Martin Luther King, who was murdered 45 years ago today, preached non-violence as a means to resolve social issues. It is difficult for me to not have anger when I read the news about some of the things that lawmakers are doing that violate the Civil Rights Amendments.

It would waste a lot less time and resources if all the states and lawmakers that spend all their time making bills that violate civil rights and the amendments would just leave the Union again, instead of the Supreme Court having to put them in check repeatedly. Then they could just have their coveted Civil War again, and lose again. 

Is that what it is coming to if the federal laws of the USA are continually ignored and precious resources are wasted to justify those laws again and again? Our amendments and constitution itself was so hard to come by; people DIED to help achieve basic rights under our government. Now in recent years it's being made fun of and challenged by neanderthals hiding behind a mixed message. One which swears by love for their people, but acts with hatred toward their fellow man. History is repeating itself. People put in crisis or having to remain in a social justice/human rights crisis all to serve an agenda that no human could ever really support if they have a moral compass -means their hands are bound to an ideology that is self-destructive at best. To support bigotry or financial genocide of the middle class and poor is something they cannot help if they have been spoon fed propaganda that it's actually a "good thing" that they will benefit from it, or that it's just a myth, however. What will come of this feeble-minded epidemic yet again? Nothing positive will come. Arsenals of weapons stashed because of their paranoia that the government is after THEM and their GUNS and their BIBLES will only feed on itself, as it has been. Hiding behind a cross to hurt others is non-productive in a relatively educated society that also knows if bombs were dropped on us by a tryannical government, that a few guns wouldn't do it either... MLK was murdered at a time when he was shifting his focus on POVERTY in America, the disparities between the rich and the poor, the right for working class people to have basic necessities for for their wages, which they did not then but it came much closer then now.. Many decades have passed, and it is a tragedy that this man was not allowed to continue on because he would have done many more great things for society and would have fought for greater good, not for the power of a few. He has inspired two generations after him to continue his dreams and for that I am thankful and feel blessed.
